I have been riding since I was a child but only competitively in my late teen and adult years. I have a passion for eventing. I am on the riding club eventing team and I am currently competing at BE100 as an individual. When I started eventing with my young dutch warmblood mare I could complete with a double clear, however, the dressage phase was letting me down. I would typically finish with a dressage score in the 40’s.

I started training with Nicola about 3 years ago and since then our dressage has significantly improved. Nicola’s way of instruction is excellent, she is clear and extremely patient. I no longer see the dressage phase as a pain, something to get through to get to the “fun bit”. Nicola has helped me to form a fabulous partnership and taught me how to ride in balance with my mare. As a result, we are constantly improving. Training with Nicola has had a huge positive effect on the jumping phases too. The canter is more balanced and positive and much easier to control.

With Nicola’s help we have gone on to be placed at almost every British Eventing outing with great dressage scores. We have had fantastic results with the riding club too, recently winning the regional riding club horse trial finals with a dressage score of 26% to go on to finish 3rd in the National finals. Nicolas kindness to the horse and patience as a trainer is a winning combination.
